Locating the smrtPhone dialer within Salesforce

Once you have your Managed Package installed inside your CRM, you see the CTI dialer down in the left corner of your dashboard.

The Salesforce Managed Package cannot be installed with the Small Business Setup. You need to be on Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Marketing Cloud to have the needed tabs (Account, Contact, Opportunity, Lead) for the integration to work.

Showing smrtPhone Fields in Tasks

It is very important first to have all your associated fields inside your tasks.

On Salesforce Dashboard, go to Setup -> Object Manager -> Task -> Page Layouts.

From here, drag and drop the smrtPhone fields that you want to be displayed.

You will see information populated according to your setting in Task Layout.

CTI Dialer inside Salesforce

CTI Dialer has the same functionalities as all smrtPhone Dialers.

A quick orientation: It’s easy to find the smrtPhone dialer within your Salesforce. The button to open your smrtPhone is situated at the bottom left of your Salesforce screen, under a button labeled β€œπŸ“ž Phone”.

Simply click that button and the dialer will expand, giving you the option to place a call, send a SMS/text message, and access your inbox.

The smrtPhone dialer is available on all Salesforce pages of the workspace you are in, and the button to access it will be visible at all times.

When you are receiving an incoming call while you are inside your Salesforce CRM, the dialer will pop up and you can answer or ignore. Install the smrtPhone Chrome Extension to enable answering calls from any Chrome browser tab.

Received text messages are visible in the Inbox.
