Subscription & Usage

smrtPhone's simple pricing structure for our cloud based phone system is based on a company-level subscription and usage.

To access smrtPhone you will need:

  • A subscription to one of our plans

  • To load in credit to your smrtPhone system for usage

Why not unlimited calls?

We use the pay-as-you-go model because it is the most straightforward and it puts you in total control of your costs. You can see your exact usage, through logs, and match it with billing to understand how to manage your own costs. We do not offer "all included" or "unlimited usage" plans because we operate under the philosophy of Radical Transparency.

Other providers who offer included minutes assume they can make extra money off of use-or-lose minutes that are baked into the price (remember the adage: the house always wins!) And we want our relationship to be a symbiotic, win-win business partnership. The question "How much does smrtPhone cost?" is completely in your hands, and we give you the tools and insight you need to manage it.

All smrtPhone subscriptions have no long term contracts and no cancellation penalties. You can pay month-to-month or select annual billing for a 20% discount.

Ongoing Usage: Maintaining Your smrtPhone Balance

In addition to subscription fees, you pay for all usage including phone numbers, call recording & storage, text messages, and call minutes.

To make/receive calls or texts, and to pay for the numbers you have in your account, you will need to maintain a pre-paid balance of credit loaded into your system. The amount of credit remaining in your account is visible on your dashboard.

If you run out of credit your account will be suspended from activity until you top up again. You can set an Auto Top-Up that will charge your card at whatever threshold you set. After a month or two of billing, you should get a sense of what the right threshold is to minimize excessive credit card charges while keeping your balance where it needs to be to accomplish your business goals.

❗ Please note: Calling/Text credits are PrePaid and you need to Top Up your account in order to make and receive calls/texts.
