This article will show you the easiest way to change your Caller ID, meaning the number that will be associated with the next communication action: call or text.

You don't need long extra steps or an overwhelming procedure; just a simple click, scroll, & select, and you are all set!

For even more efficiency, you can setup departments' caller IDs and assign different users to different departments. This will determine that all users in a department will have the same set caller IDs.

You can also decide for each user in particular. First of all, click on your Dialer button (placed in the upper middle part of your dashboard) to extend the full dialer window.

At the bottom of this pop-out window, you can see a box with your current Caller ID. If you press the arrow to the right, you can scroll and select the Caller ID that you want to use.

Now, depending on how many smrtPhone numbers you own, you can switch between them while making a call or sending an SMS.

This also applies when sending an SMS from your main dialer. Each dialer runs independently, and you can use different Caller IDs on different dialers (Mobile App, Extension, and Web App Dialer).

The Account Owner or a user with extra-permissions can decide the Caller IDs and the Default Caller ID for the users by adding them into a specific department - in which case they will receive the phone numbers attributed to that department. Also, they can change at user level the access to different Caller IDs.

This change can be made in your smrtPhone Dashboard, in the User's Configuration:

Set the Default Caller ID for the user by choosing one available on your account in the drop-down menu in the User > Settings tab. Also, you can select any option in the Available Caller IDs section and give them access to multiple Caller IDs.

Please be aware that the Departments' permissions can influence the User Configuration.

If they have multiple caller IDs available in the setup multiple caller IDs, now the users can switch between them when dialing or texting.

Also, depending on this setup, your users can only use the Default Caller ID configured by the Account Owner/Users with granted permission. If they click the arrow, no additional Caller ID options will be available.
