Registering for A2P 10DLC to become an authorized sender of business text messages is a requirement created by the U.S. Mobile Carriers.

Unregistered traffic will incur higher per-message rates and may make you more susceptible to scrutiny for TCPA violations, making you vulnerable for penalty fees.

The mobile providers have also indicated they will filter and/or not deliver unregistered messages at some point.

Fines for major compliance violations, such as using techniques to circumvent compliance and customer protection controls vary between $500 and $10,000 per violation.

Fees per Unregistered Message

AT&T Carrier Fees:

  • $0.01 per unregistered outbound SMS message segment

  • $0.015 per unregistered outbound MMS message

T-Mobile Carrier Fees (including Sprint):

  • $0.011 per unregistered outbound/inbound SMS message segment

  • $0.020 per unregistered outbound/inbound MMS message

Verizon Carrier Fees:

  • $0.01 per unregistered outbound/inbound SMS message segment

  • $0.05 per unregistered outbound/inbound MMS message

All these fees and the added possibility of your messages not being delivered.

πŸ’° These carrier charges are passed through to you with a minor 5% markup to cover our administrative costs associated with efficiently managing registration and validation. Carriers are solely responsible for handling and processing any campaign-related costs; smrtPhone does not profit from these services.
