How to View smrtPhone Fields in Salesforce

smrtPhone Call Logs and Recordings can be viewed from Salesforce Tasks

Once you install the smrtPhone Managed Package into your Salesforce Org, you will find the CTI Dialer on your CRM Dashboard. There are three steps to make sure all of your smrtPhone data is visible inside of your Salesforce Org.

This article will help you get set up with the Logs Object and Task and the visual representation of text messages can be configured by following the steps in this article about the VisualForce display.

We recommend that only the Salesforce Administrator make these changes, as they are global Salesforce settings and will affect all users.

The benefits of smrtPhone Logs inside of your CRM

All of your communication data, including call times, phone numbers, users, duration, call status, notes, etc appears in two places inside of your Salesforce org. To assist teams as they work leads and contact, individual information will appear on your Lead/Contact/Opportunity Tasks as you set it in your Salesforce Setup Page inside of your smrtPhone dashboard.

In addition, the information will also appear inside of a single object called smrtPhone Logs that you can display inside of your Org. Because the smrtPhone Logs shows only communications data, and does not get mixed in with other tasks, it provides a clearer picture as well as greater reporting capability. It brings a lot of value to your administrators, managers, and users to have better communications clarity, insight, and analysis.

Here are some of the benefits of the smrtPhone Logs:

Adding smrtPhone Logs to your Sales Console

As an Admin or the Owner of the Salesforce organization, you can customize your views. To see the smrtPhone Logs, you need to follow a few steps to set them up properly.

Head to Sales Tab, within App Launcher, click View All, and look for Sales Console.

Next to the Home button, you expand the menu and click Edit. In the Edit Sales Console App Navigation Items, you need to add more items. Look for smrtPhone Logs and add them to your list of items. You can edit also the Sales App Navigation Items in the same way.

You can move them around as you please, depending on what you want to see first on your dashboard. Just grab them and move them up or down.

And now, all smrtPhone logs will start populating within the smrtLogs tab. To also see all available information in your Tasks you need to modify Task Layout to include the smrtPhone Logs field as well.

This action is globally active, so all account users will now have smrtPhone Logs displayed.

Modify Salesforce Task Layout to Include smrtPhone Fields

The next step is to make sure that all smrtPhone fields are on display inside of Tasks.

(Disclaimer: Your Tasks Tab may look slightly different on your CRM page than in this video and article, but will have the same functionality.)

As an Admin, you can operate changes to the Salesforce Dashboard > Setup > Object Manager.

The customization is easy:

1. Select the Tasks tab from Object Manager

2. Select the Page Layout tab > Task Layout

3. Drag & drop the fields to the location you want to customize the Task. smrtPhone requires the following fields to be configured for the integration to work smoothly: Call Status, Call Duration, Call Recording, From Number, To Number, and smrtPhone Logs, in whichever order you please to drop them.

A proper field configuration decreases the chances of getting integration errors within Salesforce Page Setup.

If you work with a pre-configured Salesforce CRM, such as Left Main or Billions, please contact their team before adjusting the Task Layout.
