A2P 10DLC verification is now a business requirement for any company that wishes to text their contacts. You must take care that everything is in its place for things to run smoothly.

Only account Owners and Users with Trust Center permissions have access to submit A2P 10DLC registrations.

This article gives an overview of the process of A2P10DLC registration and validation:

What Is A2P 10DLC?

A2P10DLC stands for Application-to-Person (A2P) messaging via a standard 10-digit long code (10DLC) phone number.

For a business, registering your numbers brings a higher throughput, better deliverability, and improved compliance.

Registration also provides trust and transparency.

Steps in Registration

This is the part that requires attention and patience since there are five important detailed stages that you need to complete in order to fully comply with A2P10DLC:

  1. Business Profile

  2. A2P plan selection

  3. Brand registration

  4. Campaign creation

  5. Phone number assignment

It may take a moment, but the process is pretty straightforward.

To approve an A2P Campaign, our provider requires an opt-in option or a way to consent to receive text messages from your company for your potential clients.

These are the details behind the steps to registering for A2P 10DLC within the Trust Center:

1. Create a Business Profile for your company in the Trust Center

Once you get on your Dashboard, you go to Trust Center and create your Business Profile.

If you need help while creating your business profile, you can check this article: How to create a business profile in the Trust Center.

2. Plan Selection

Once your Business Profile is approved, the buttons for choosing which A2P plan you'd like will appear.

3. Register your Brand

Once you pick a plan, the first step is to register your brand for A2P texting. Because we already have most of your information saved in your Trust Center profile, this step will go very quickly. Depending on which plan you choose, you will be charged a different amount for the brand registration. It is $4 for Low Volume and $44 for Standard.

4. Create a Campaign

After your Business profile was created, and your Company was approved as an A2P-authorized brand, you can create a new campaign under the plan you chose.

There is only one option for campaigns under the Low Volume plan and there is about a dozen different types under Standard.

It is in this campaign creation that you will detail what types of messages you will be sending. Try to complete the forms with care and accuracy in order to avoid your request failing.

The campaign review process is the longest part of this process. Due to the fact that this verification is made by human beings, it takes some time. Please be patient.

No worries!

You can still run your business and call while you wait for validation.

5. Assign Phone Numbers

Campaign approval takes you to the last step, where you need to assign phone numbers that will be used for A2P 10DLC campaigns. You can choose up to 49 phone numbers per campaign. We have capped the phone numbers per campaign to 49 due to T-Mobile's limitations.

After you assign the phone numbers, it will take up to 10 days for those to be verified and registered. The same process occurs for the removal of a number or for the transfer from one campaign to another.
